And if Ganguly wasn't even in the 30, it obviously would cause problems, hence the safe way out was to name him in the 30, but the real surprise would be if he were in the final 15. The saga continues.. I firmly beleive the best 11 should take the field everytime.. Sports is all about competing at ones highest possible level and trying to be his/her best at any given moment.. With that in mind, I would even sack sachin if he is in bad form.. I really dont see the reasoning behind selecting Ganguly in the top 30.. If his past performances were the reason for his selection, may he justify himself by proving his mettle in the top 30.. During Ganguly's glory days, I was in awe of his phenomenal strokeplay and unfettered attitude on the field.. I would love to see him back to his best but right now he is far from it.. Every time you think there is hope and a decent job is being done, something like this happens! And I don't quite remember Ganguly's one-day run prior to being dropped but I guess this happens when your godfather loses elections. Also,you are the captain who is definitely struggling in one form of the game and don't merit a place in the test team: India isn't Australia and Ganguly, a decent captain, but no Taylor... -Prof Some things never change.
