Prof. when you set about picking up your greatest Indian tennis player of all time, you preferred to omit writing about Mahesh Bhupati because you felt, "Bhupath's performances on the singles circuit and Davis Cup are nothing to write home about and he is clearly not the best Indian player of his era." You have a point, but certainly not all of them. You didn't say you were picking up greatest ever Indian tennis player of the SINGLES. Therefore, even if you didn't find him to be non-descript in singles, you still ought to have mentioned his achievements in doubles, which have made all the Indians and the India proud. I am confident that you will take my humble submission sportingly being a commentator on sports.

@ Aditya: I remember the win. It was impressive, yes but wasn't sure if Pilot Pen deserved a mention. But point well taken: Sampras was at the peak of his powers in 1998!

@Z: I was referring to tennis players :P... just kidding. Even given Sania's sudden burst on the scene, I think Paes is probably the most famous of the Indian tennis stars! (though people like you may choose to hold a different opinion)

Hey Prof. The assessment seems fair enough, though you forgot about Paes' victory over Sampras.
